The small republic of Honduras borders Guatemala to the northwest, El Salvador to the west and Nicaragua to the south, and is flanked by the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The ruins of Copan are the largest cultural monument in Honduras and still bear witness to the great Mayan rulers. Copan lies on the northwestern border with Guatemala and was an important hub in the Maya empire. The city reached its heyday in the 8th century and was abandoned two centuries later. Already with the arrival of Christopher Columbus the indigenous population had disappeared without a trace and only weathered traces of the former rulers could be seen. It was also Columbus who gave the country its name, as there are unusual depths off the country's Atlantic coast. Honduras is derived from “Hondura” and translated from Spanish means depth.
The largest tobacco growing area in Honduras is the state of "El Paraiso", a predominantly mountainous area on the southern border with Nicaragua that is in the immediate vicinity of Nueva Segovia and Esteli. El Paraiso is on average 800 meters above sea level and pushes the tropical climate of the country to a pleasant 20°C in the annual mean. In addition to the excellent weather conditions, the particularly fertile soils offer the best conditions for tobacco cultivation. The ideal conditions are still adorned today by the centuries-old tradition of tobacco cultivation, because the Maya began to grow tobacco in Honduras. No, Caldwell does not tease with a bad leaf! As with the Natural variant, the leaf from the DomRep, Mexico (wrapper), Indonesia and the USA is beyond reproach. Cult saying on the Anilla: "We rule the night"! Smoking time 55 - 60 minutes.

With Caldwell, the clocks basically tick a little differently - the gangster on the ring comes across as slightly disturbing rather than inviting, the Maduro - usually more expensive than the "light" of a series - is a few pennies cheaper and no more powerful either... but aromatically, the "upside-down world" finds its limits, because the flavour ratio to the Natural is the expected one: more espresso roast flavours, more men's chocolate, more spices, but noticeably less wood and leather. The fine sweetness is on the same discreet level, but also has a somewhat "darker" liquorice character. Noble stuff, unfortunately a bit under the radar!

Naturally, the spiciness and aroma strength of the Broadleaf wrapper are not quite as prominent with this filler quantity, but they remain permanently noticeable. All the more creamy and smooth is this medium-strong comfort smoke with pronounced, pleasant chocolate notes, clearly perceptible fermentation sweetness and a dense, noble bouquet of dark woods. The Churchill's smaller sister is a lot racier. There is a little more power as well as an expressive start with pithy pepper and toast flavours, but this immediately "slows down" and gives way to a differentiated, harmonious play of flavours. The characteristic subtle chocolate sweetness of the blend can soon be discerned, as well as a wide range of engaging roasted aromas, from espresso to bread crust and dark nuts. The leathery, bitter tannins also blend harmoniously into the overall picture, while the woody notes are more background music. A distinctive cigar!

In contrast to the stately Torpedo, this dainty "cartridge" is rather a small format for approx. 40 - 50 minutes of smoking time. Similar to the No. 1, it has a character of its own - it's really worth trying this series!
Flavours
As pointed as the shape of this unusually sized cigar is its flavour progression. The massive chocolate note of the big Torpedo is a little more restrained here, but still clearly palpable. The longer you smoke it, the more woody and spicy aromas assert themselves, accompanied by herbal scents and the fine hint of leather typical of the series. In general, the Belicoso is characterised more than other Vítolas by "vegetal" facets - coniferous ethereal, spicy herbs and cedar in combination with discreet liquorice and towards the end pleasantly earthy-peppery components. No, this format has nothing to do with RP's "Sixty" noble series - rather, its name refers to the baroque ring gauge of the Gordo with approx. 75 - 95 minutes of enjoyment. As a result of the growing popularity of extra-thick cigars, it has complemented the "Vintage 1990" line since 2012.
Flavors
Like many "Sixties" cigars, the large caliber is blended a little lighter than the thinner Vítolas and, as expected, offers a particularly smooth, sloppy smoke texture. The aroma, on the other hand, is not necessarily sweeter than that of the Robusto - dark chocolate and coffee beans are in the foreground, the sweetish wine/berry tones play a more subtle accompanying role, as do the woody nuances. A hint of ethereal herbal fragrance repeatedly penetrates the palate, while subtle notes of tea and nutmeg add excitement. Towards the finish, roasted aromas and a fine tart nutty flavor are added.

Perfect maduro feel-good aromatics without excessive strength, but with all the more delicious caramel sweetness delivers the "little fat". Der Blend zählt zu den leichtesten der allgemein für prägnante Würze bekannten Marke – und zu den elegantesten.
