Vor 100 Jahren eröffnete Henri Davidoff einen Tabakladen in Genf, nachdem die Familie aus Kiew fliehen musste. Seitdem liest sich die Familiengeschichte der Davidoffs wie ein spannender Krimi aus der Welt der Tabakhändler und Fabrikanten. Sein 1906 geborener Sohn Zino Davidoff lernte bereits in jungen Jahren, wie man Pfeifentabak und Zigaretten mischte. Doch das reichte ihm bald nicht mehr. Getrieben von Visionen und großen Ideen zog es Zino Davidoff in die weite Welt. Auf einer Reise durch Mittelamerika und Kuba knüpfte er wertvolle Kontakte zu Tabakbauern. Er arbeitete mit auf dem Feld und erweiterte sein Wissen zum Thema Tabakanbau. Nach seiner Reise kam er auf eine innovative und revolutionäre Idee: Er entwickelte einen Raum mit idealen Lagerbedingungen für Zigarren. Dies war die Geburtsstunde des modernen Humidors. Hierbei erinnerte er sich an die feuchte Luft, die in den Tropen herrschte und die für die Lagerung von Zigarren maßgeblich ist. Von nun an war es möglich, Zigarren optimal zu lagern und auch nach längerer Zeit ohne Aroma- und Geschmackseinbußen zu genießen. Dank seiner Kontakte, die er auf seiner Reise knüpfte, konnte man auch während des Zweiten Weltkriegs bei Zino Davidoff Zigarren kaufen. Zu dieser Zeit hatten nur wenige Händler die Möglichkeit, Zigarren anzubieten. Im Alter von 40 Jahren kreierte er seine erste eigene Davidoff Zigarre. Die ersten von ihm kreierten Davidoff Zigarren trugen die Namen von edlen Weingütern (Davidoff Chateau Latour), was die Exklusivität und Hochwertigkeit der Produkte unterstreichen sollte. Durch die Vertragsunterzeichnung mit Cubatabaco stieg er 1967 ins kubanische Zigarren-Geschäft ein und vermarktete ab sofort seine exklusiven Zigarren unter dem Namen Davidoff. 1970 fusionierte Zino Davidoff mit Oettinger – die Davidoff Oettinger Group war geboren und steht seither für die Produktion von Qualitätszigarren. Die meistverkaufte Marke des Konzerns ist nach wie vor Davidoff. 1989 endete die Zusammenarbeit mit Cubatabaco mit einem Eklat: Kuba lieferte keinen Tabak mehr an Davidoff. Dieser verbrannte daraufhin Zigarren im Wert von drei Millionen US-Dollar. Seit 1990 produziert das Unternehmen seine Zigarren in der Dominikanischen Republik, dem Land, in dem besonders edle und milde Tabaksorten gedeihen und nach traditionellen Verfahren meisterhaft veredelt werden. 1994 starb Zino Davidoff im Alter von 74 Jahren in Genf. Heute blicken wir auf sein beeindruckendes Lebenswerk zurück. Er wurde in die Welt des Tabaks hineingeboren, widmete sein Leben dieser Branche und überzeugte auch als leidenschaftlicher und erfolgreicher Unternehmer. Neben einem großen Davidoff Zigarren-Sortiment und einer umfangreichen Vielfalt an Davidoff Zigarillos vertrieb der Visionär unter der Marke Davidoff auch Accessoires im Luxus-Bereich wie Uhren, Lederprodukte und Düfte, die sich weltweit ebenfalls großer Beliebtheit erfreuen. The S.T. Dupont Ligne Le new Grand Dupont Cling Diamondhead Palladium reinvents the iconic "Le Grand Dupont" series. The new, more daring edition with a sleek design offers lighter lovers a unique sensory experience. The body of the lighter is set with a micro diamond pattern and covered with a silver lacquer. The diamond pattern is interrupted only briefly below the lighter cap by a narrow, smooth silver strip in which the brand name "S.T. Dupont" is engraved in curved letters. When the lighter cap is opened, the distinctive "cling" sounds, announcing the precious and unforgettable moment. This collaboration not only represents another milestone in the 150-year history of the S.T. Dupont brand, which is characterised by innovation and craftsmanship, but also demonstrates the convergence of values and aspirations that are metaphorically represented in the creation of this collection.

Of course, the new collection from S.T. Dupont doesn't just include lighters from the luxury goods manufacturer's various series, because how can you enjoy the cigars from Partagas' premium line without opening them properly? As with the last joint collections with Cuban premium cigar brands, the "Partagas Linea Maestra" collection also features the Stand Cutter, a luxurious cutting tool that can be used as a cigar bank if required. The Stand Cutter can be converted into a cigar bench with a simple tilting movement of the movable inner part, so aficionados always have the option of placing their cigars on it. The inner part of the cigar cutter, which is decorated with a gold-plated frame, is coated with a clear blue lacquer, with the outline of a tobacco leaf engraved underneath. The Linea Maestra lettering is engraved on the front of the cutting blade and the outline of the Partagas manufactory is engraved on the back. To open the guillotine cutter, pull the micro-diamond-studded handle of the cutting blade upwards and press it down again to close it. When closing, the guillotine opens cigars up to a 58 ring gauge.
